Social Proof Bubble/Social Proof Box

​1. ​What is a Social Proof Bubble/Box?

The Social Proof Bubble is a small pop-up that appears on the page from below, disappears shortly afterwards and contains text like:

This way, you not only give your customers the impression of scarcity, but you simultaneously increase your credibility as a vendor by showing that other customers have already purchased your product. Of course, it only displays genuine purchases that are recorded by our system and shown anonymously in the Bubble. 

Due to the anonymized representation of the data, no conclusions can be drawn about the actual buyer. Therefore, the use of our Social Proof Bubble/Box is secure from a data protection point of view. However, as there is a transmission of the IP address, we have created sample texts that you can include in your privacy policy.

Note: In the Social Proof Bubble settings​, you can determine whether your own test purchases should also be displayed.

All you have to do is create a Social Proof Bubble and then embed it into your order form or sales page.

You can also create a Social Proof BoxHowever, this can only be embedded into your sales page. Unlike the Social Proof Bubble, the Box is visible on your sales page all the time. The Social Proof Box shows multiple buyers at the same time:

​2. ​Create a Social Proof Bubble and/or Social Proof Box

First, decide whether you want a Social Proof Bubble or a Social Proof Box:

Bubble: The Bubble is a pop-up that appears on the bottom left of the screen and disappears again. The Bubble can be embedded into your Digistore24 order form and sales page.

Box: The Box can be placed anywhere and appears all the time. It can only be embedded into your sales page.

You have now successfully created a Social Proof Bubble or a Social Proof Box. Now you only have to embed these into your order form (Bubble) or your sales page (Bubble or Box).

3. Embed Social Proof Bubble/Box

a) ​Embed Bubble into your order form

  1. In the vendor view, go to Account > Products.
  2. Select the desired product and click on the pencil icon  on the far left under Actions.
  3. Change to the tab Order form.
  4. Scroll down to the Order form window and for Social Proof Bubble, select a Social Proof Bubble that has already been created.
  5. Finally, click on the button Save at the bottom of the page.

b) ​Embed Bubble or Box into your sales page

  1. In the vendor view, go to Account > Conversion tools.
  2. Change to the tab Social proof widget.
  3. Select the Social Proof Bubble/Box that you have already created and click on the pencil icon  on the far left under Actions.
  4. Scroll down to the Embed window.
  5. Now you have 3 possibilities:
    • With WordPress, copy the code in the Shortcode field and embed it into your page.
    • Please note: To do this, you need the Digistore24 WordPress plugin (from version 2.20)  or alternatively you need the DigiMember plugin (from version 2.060.008). You can add the Digistore24 plugin under Plugins on WordPress. If the shortcode does not work, even though you have installed the plugin, please click on Update under Plugins and Digistore24 plugin on WordPress. Finally, make sure that the plugin has been activated.

    • Without WordPress, copy the code in the HTML code field and embed it into your page.
    • We also provide you with an API URL. However, you should have the help of a software developer for this.
